Water Hole

Water Hole made waves in Newstead on March 3, 2018! The Regional Centre for Culture 2018 collaborated with the community of Newstead in Mount Alexander Shire to present a free celebration of all things swimming pool. A smoking ceremony by Dja Dja Wurrung Traditional Owners welcomed visitors to the event, and activities kicked off with a pool-themed parade of children from Newstead Primary School. Dancing, live music, and films were just a few of the many program features enjoyed by all. To end the evening with a big splash, the day concluded with an in-water circus performance In the Deep End, by Asking for Trouble and Russell:Evans featuring local kids at the Newstead & District Swimming Pool.
