Welcome to the Regional Centre for Culture!
It’s not a building, it’s Country. It's the heart of Victoria! Think place, think identity. Think opportunities for wondering, amazement, respect and renewal where the cultures of all communities are celebrated for a whole year.
The RCC is taking place on the country of the Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung peoples, whose ancestors and their descendants are the traditional owners of this Country. We acknowledge their living culture and their unique role in the life of the region including as key partners in the RCC program.
Meander is what we think you should do and to help you do it see our recommended itineraries in, through and around it. Surprise performances in the best of famers markets, tiny towns hosting giant visual arts installations, urban centres premiering new works from among Victoria’s finest. Did we mention massed pipe and brass bands in the bush? Or circuses at swimming pools?
What’s Next? The RCC has been an incredible year of focus on culture in Central Victoria with over 1,000 performances and events taking place and well over 200,000 people taking part as artists, audiences and participants. The legacy of the RCC 2018 will be felt for years to come as communities continue to get out and about, make art, make fun and connect with each other through cultural activities.
